Homemade Hummus

Here's a quick and easy hummus recipe that tastes much better than store-bought.

Make up a batch at the beginning of the week to have on hand for snacking. 

Hummus and veggies are my go-to snack.

Homemade Hummus

Ingredients:

1-28oz can of chickpeas, drained, reserve liquid
½ cup aquafaba (the liquid from the can of chickpeas) or water
¼ cup tahini
½ lemon juiced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp sea salt
2 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

1. Put all the ingredients into a food processor, except the olive oil, and blend until desired consistency. I sometimes add more lemon/salt, depending on how it tastes.
2. Once you are happy with the consistency, add 2 tbsp olive oil.
3. Remove from food processor to a serving dish.
4. Sprinkle with paprika, a drizzle of olive oil and a few parsley sprigs. (Optional)
