Could Your Morning Use a Reset? I Know Mine Could.

could your morning use a reset? i know mine could. Apr 29, 2025

I shared this with my email list today and thought I’d post it here too, because honestly, it’s such a simple idea and might be just what you need if your mornings have been feeling a little off lately.

What’s the first thing you do in the morning?

Hit snooze? Check your phone? Shuffle into the kitchen for coffee before your eyes are even fully open?

Yep, same here.

Lately, my mornings have felt a little scattered, not in a cozy, slow-start kind of way, but more like “how is it already 10 am and I haven’t done anything for myself?” That kind of scattered.

So I started looking for something small I could try to reset the tone of my day. I’m not jumping into long meditations or anything that feels like another thing on the to-do list. I wanted something that felt doable.

That’s when I came across this idea:

The 3-Minute Morning Reset.

It’s simple. Just three minutes—one minute for your mind, one for your body, and one for your focus. That’s it. It actually feels like something I could stick with, so I figured… why not?

Here’s how it works:

1. Breathe (1 minute)
Before anything else—before reaching for your phone or getting out of bed—take five slow, deep belly breaths. It’s a gentle way to ease into the day instead of rushing into it.

2. Move (1 minute)
Roll your shoulders, do a quick stretch, or knock out a few air squats. Just enough to wake up your body and shake off the cobwebs.

3. Set an intention (1 minute)
Ask yourself:

  • What’s one thing I can do today to feel better in my body?
  • What’s one small step that feels meaningful?
  • What’s one thing I want to make time for?

You don’t need to have all the answers. Even one little intention can guide your day in a better direction.

I’m planning to start this little reset and see how it feels. It might be the shift I’ve been needing—and if your mornings could use a little reset, too, maybe give it a try.
