About 20 years ago, I began my own health journey. Back then, I was more familiar with the usual breakfast staples. But as I delved deeper into nutrition, I stumbled upon incredible ingredients, like flaxseeds. which led to the creation of my Flaxseed Breakfast Smoothie.
Flaxseeds are tiny powerhouses packed with nutrients. They're especially rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which are excellent for heart health. Also, they are a great source of dietary fibre, which is essential for maintaining a healthy gut. When you pair them with fruits like bananas and blueberries, you amplify the health benefits. Bananas are rich in potassium and vitamin B6, while blueberries are full of antioxidants. And almond milk? It's a delicious dairy-free option that's gentle on the stomach and rich in calcium. This smoothie isn't just about taste; it's a blend of health and flavour!

Flaxseed Breakfast Smoothie
• 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
• 1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
• 1 banana
• 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
• 1 tbsp almond butter
• A pinch of cinnamon
1. Combine the almond milk, flaxseeds, banana, blueberries, and almond butter in a blender.
2. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency.
3. Pour into a glass and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon.
Beginning your day with this flaxseed smoothie is a treat for your body. I find myself energized every time I indulge in this blend, and I hope you will, too! Good nutrition doesn't have to be complicated. It can be as simple as blending a few ingredients together.
