There’s tired… and then there’s tired.
Not the kind a good night’s sleep can fix. The kind that lingers. The kind that makes everything feel just a little heavier. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s like moving through your day in slow motion.
Lately, I’ve been feeling it.
Not completely wiped out, but definitely running on less than full power. You show up. You get through the day. You check the boxes. But underneath it all, you’re dragging. I’ve been operating at about 60 percent, trying to look like I’ve got 100 in the tank. And I know I’m not the only one.
Some mornings, even the idea of doing the “right” thing feels like too much.
Even the small habits like stretching, drinking water, or prepping a meal can feel big when your energy is low.
But here’s something I’ve learned through experience.
It’s not always about pushing harder.
Sometimes it’s about shifting gently.
Some days, I don’t have it in me to do everything on my list.
But I can drink a glass of water.
I can stretch for two minutes.
I can step outside for some fresh air.
Those small things don’t fix everything, but they help. They’re like breadcrumbs leading me back to myself.
And I’ll be honest. Even with eating well, moving my body, getting outside, and trying to prioritize sleep, I still feel like I’m running on empty most days.
That’s why I’ve started working with a naturopath and a functional medicine doctor to explore what else might be going on. Sometimes it’s not just about habits. It’s about getting support, checking in, and looking a little deeper.
If you’ve been feeling this way too, low on energy, low on motivation, I want to say this:
You’re not lazy.
You’re not broken.
You’re human.
Start where you are. Do one small thing.
And let that be enough for today.
