Take a hot bath, not me! Who has time?

We often opt for showers in our busy schedules, but we don't realize that we miss out on the many benefits taking a hot bath has for the human body.  Keep reading below to find out about some of these health benefits.

Improved Sleep

In one study, it was shown a 10-minute bath 90 minutes to 2 hours before bed, in water temperatures between 104 to 109°F (40 to 43°C), was shown to help people get the best quality of sleep. It allowed people to fall asleep 10 minutes quicker on average.

Decreased Joint Pain

Taking a hot bath works wonders for your joints, muscles, and even bones. A hot bath is one of the best ways to treat pain and stiffness.  Adding Epsom salts to your bath may provide additional pain relief and reduce inflammation.

Improved Circulation

Blood circulation is what helps everything function properly in our bodies. There are many natural ways to manage blood circulation in the body, including eating a healthy diet and practicing special exercises; but something as simple as relaxing in a hot bath could better your blood flow.

Experts say the hot water in your tub causes your blood vessels to open, which in turn lowers your blood pressure. The warmth of the water also encourages blood flow, allowing better circulation throughout your body. A few dips a week is an excellent workout for your heart.

Decreased Stress

Life is full of stressors, and a hot bath can be your best friend. Instead of reaching for the wine, opt for a hot bath to help ease the tensions of the day. The soothing effect of the hot water may help relieve physical, emotional, and mental stress.
